What’s actually free, and where each free tier stops
The exact limit on each tool’s free plan — Buffer, Later, Metricool, TikTok’s own scheduler — read from their own pricing pages and dated, plus where ours stops. Every third-party figure was read from that company’s own pricing page and carries the date. Our own come from the constants that enforce them in the product.
- Is Buffer free?Yes. Buffer has a genuine free plan, with no time limit: 3 connected channels and 10 scheduled posts per channel, and the 10 slots refill as posts go out. The first paid tier, Essentials, starts at $5 a month per channel billed yearly.Last checked
- Is Later free?No. Later does not have a free plan at all — only a 14-day free trial. After it, the cheapest tier is Starter at $18.75 a month billed yearly, which covers one social set of 8 profiles, one user, and 30 posts per profile per month.Last checked
- Is Metricool free?Yes. Metricool has a free plan with no time limit, covering 1 brand, 20 scheduled posts a month and 30 days of analytics — but LinkedIn and X are excluded from it. The first paid tier, Starter, is €16 a month.Last checked
- Free TikTok schedulers, and where each one stopsSeveral tools schedule TikTok posts on a free tier, but every one of them caps something: Buffer gives 3 channels with 10 queued posts each, Metricool gives 1 brand and 20 posts a month, and Later gives nothing beyond a 14-day trial. - Free AI video generators, and what "free" costs youFree AI video generation exists, but never unconditionally: the free tier of every generator pays for itself with a watermark, a resolution cap, a queue, or a small monthly credit grant. Generating video costs real money per second on someone's GPUs, so an offer with no limit at all is either a trial or a bait.Last checked
- Is Koda free?Partly, and the honest answer has two halves. Every new account gets 7 days of the full Growth plan with no payment card asked for.
