Find a Shopify best-seller and turn it into a TikTok video
Last checked
Koda reads the best-selling order that each tracked Shopify store displays itself, lists the products at the top of it, and turns the one you pick into a TikTok video generated from its real photo — then publishes it to your TikTok accounts and measures what it did. As of 28 September 2026, 513 stores and about 88,000 products are tracked. A full economy video costs 226 coins, about €0.68 on the Starter plan.
Where does the "best-seller" ranking come from?
From the store itself. Every Shopify store can list its catalogue at /collections/all?sort_by=best-selling, and Shopify writes the products of that page, in the order shown, into the page head. Koda reads that list, up to three pages deep, and stores each product's position as its sales rank. It is the store's own ranking — not a revenue estimate built from traffic, ad counts or review counts.
The obvious shortcut does not work, and it is worth knowing if you build this yourself: /products.json is sorted by publication date, and adding sort_by=best-selling to it is silently ignored. Measured on 26 September 2026 on 12 stores, the response was byte for byte identical with and without the parameter.
| Measure | Value |
|---|---|
| Shopify stores tracked | 513 |
| Products tracked | about 88,000 |
| Stores with a ranking read in the last 7 days | 137 |
| Products carrying one of those ranks | 3,646 |
What happens when you pick a product?
"Turn it into a video" opens the Create screen with the product already filled in: its real photo, its title, its price in the store's currency and the link to its page. The script is written from that, and the clip is generated from that photo — the product in the video is the one being sold, not a lookalike drawn from a text description.
You choose the AI model for each step among the 49 in the catalogue. The price in coins is on the button before anything runs, and a generation that fails is refunded automatically.
How much does one finished video cost?
226 coins on the economy path — script, one image, a 5-second clip, voice-over, burned-in subtitles and the 9:16 montage. That is €0.68 on Starter (9 € for 3,000 coins) and €0.53 on Business. A premium model costs more, and says so before you generate.
For scale: Creatify charges 5 credits per 15 seconds of avatar video, $1.95 on its Starter plan and $1.65 on Pro (read on its pricing page on 27 September 2026). The formats differ — an avatar ad against a product video built on a generated clip — so compare what you actually need.
And after the video exists?
It is published to the TikTok accounts you pick, through TikTok's official Content Posting API — the account authorises Koda and the post leaves from the API, no phone, proxy or browser automation involved. The statistics screen then shows what each account did with it, which is how you know whether the product deserves a second video.
What this does not do
- It does not tell you how many units a product sold, or its revenue. A rank is an order, not a quantity: first of a small store and first of a large one are not the same success.
- It covers the stores Koda tracks, not every Shopify store in existence, and a store's ranking is re-read when its turn in the scan comes, not continuously.
- It is not TikTok Shop research. The source is Shopify stores' own ranking, not TikTok Shop sales.
- It does not guarantee a winning video. It removes the guesswork about which product is already selling; the hook is still yours to test.
Frequently asked
- How do I find a winning product on Shopify?
- Look at what stores already sell best, in their own order: /collections/all?sort_by=best-selling on any Shopify store. Koda does that across 513 tracked stores (as of 28 September 2026) and lists the products at the top of those rankings, so you start from a product that is already selling rather than from a guess.
- Can AI make a TikTok video from a Shopify product photo?
- Yes. In Koda, the product picked from the ranking arrives in the Create screen with its real photo, and the clip is generated from it. A complete economy video — script, image, clip, voice-over, subtitles, montage — costs 226 coins, about €0.68 on Starter.
- Is the sales rank an estimate?
- No. It is the position the store itself gives the product when its catalogue is sorted by best-selling. What it is not is a sales figure: it says which products sell best in that store, not how many.
